Jessie and Luke held their intimate wedding this past fall at their home here in Ottawa.
The couple had originally decided to postpone their big day but then shifted plans again and decided on planning a small wedding at their home. With Covid restrictions changing daily, their home wedding went from a group of family and friends, to a handful of immediate family and closest friends.
Jessie and Luke took each update and change of plans in stride and were so amazing during the entire planning process. They wanted to celebrate their big day on their original wedding date no matter what and we were so excited to create something special for them! I was so excited when Jessie asked if we could create a beautiful mantle arrangement for their ceremony and decorate a tablescape for their petite group to enjoy dinner together.
During their delicious dinner prepared by La Bottega, amongst the soft glow of the candlelight, the newlyweds went around the table and thanked each and every guest for attending and sharing their gratitude for their relationship. In that moment, I was even emotional listening to their toasts and speeches, because their home had been truly filled with so much love and joy all day. It didn’t matter that they had literally changed all of their plans, that they had cut their guest list by 95%, they were overjoyed to finally be married, at home with their pups, and sharing a beautiful day with their closest loved ones. Laura Kelly captured their love perfectly, with so many sweet and genuine moments.
Jessie and Luke, I am so, so happy I was able to be a part of your intimate wedding day. It is a day I will remember forever and I couldn’t be happier for you both, congratulations again!
