This colourful, whimsical editorial took place at Meadow Hill Farm, just outside of Nashville, Tennessee. When I had began planning my birthday trip to Nashville with some of my best friends, I knew I needed to plan a shoot while I was there. I reached out to these amazing vendors who took part in our shoot and they insisted we use Meadow Hill Farm for the venue. Meadow Hill  is a gorgeous wedding venue. Nestled on top of the rolling hills and flower fields, the property houses a cozy bridal cottage, a beautiful barn, immaculately landscaped grounds, and stunning gardens.

You truly feel like you’re in a magical, fairy garden while you’re at the farm.

We wanted to incorporate each area of the property because everywhere you turn has it’s own special charm. We had the mobile bar from Bar Magnolia set up in the sweet little courtyard space. We set up the tablescape at the back of the barn against the sliding barn doors. Abby from Cottonwood Floral created a stunning arbour installation in the ceremony space, which was so lush and green. And of course, we had to finish off the shoot with romantic bridal portraits in the rose garden at sunset. The gardens and trees amongst the property were filled with twinkle lights, which created such a fairytale ambience.

I planned this shoot from Canada and without even seeing the venue, I knew I wanted to play off the vintage barn feel, yet keep it soft and elegant.

I wanted to incorporate that fairy garden feel with tons of lush florals.

The soft peach, blush, and white florals with mixed greens were whimsical and ethereal. The bridal bouquet filled with delicate peonies, lovely peach garden roses, and fluffy lisianthus was tied with a hand lettered ribbon that read “You are my today and all of my tomorrows”. This was one of my favourite details from the shoot. This is such a great idea to incorporate a more personal touch into your bouquet!

The tablescape was designed with hand lettered menus, a hand lettered table runner with personal vows, and gold cutlery. We used two different charger plates to show how a simple switch of a plate can change the whole design. One charger plate was a gold rimmed porcelain, while the other was a soft grey and white marble texture. The gold rimmed plate pairs perfectly with the other gold accents and keeps the tones warm. But, the marble charger plate also pairs beautifully as it plays off the grey taper candles and grey-wash barn.

I love to use as many candles as I can when designing!

The more candlelight, the more romantic the table setting. Therefore, we used a mix of brass candlestick holders and soft blush votive holders, which were scattered amongst the floral runner. Using a mixture of sizes of candleholders creates height and dimension in your tablescape.  The lush floral runner in the centre of the tablescape was the main focal point for the table. I love how it was so organic and felt like it was growing from the table.

Nat’s hair and make up were soft and glowy, which complimented the aesthetic of the editorial perfectly. The stunning Alexandra Grecco bridal gown from The Dress Theory had such delicate detailing all over, including a soft floral detail “growing” up the bodice. The tulle layered skirt flowed perfectly as Nat walked amongst the rose gardens and twirled in circles with Jeremy.

Nat & Jeremy were such kind souls, filled with so much love for each other. They had actually gotten married at Meadow Hill a few months prior to our shoot! It had unfortunately rained on their wedding day, so it was super fun for them to have more photos outside at the venue and get a chance to relive their big day all over again!

Jennifer Cody captured each and every detail of this shoot and executed my vision perfectly. hese vendors made our shoot day SO MUCH FUN. I am so thankful we were able to collaborate and I hope to see you all again some day soon!!

I am counting the days until my next trip to Nashville

It was seriously such a fun city. Everyone is so genuine and kind down there. The city encompassed so many cute little neighbourhoods and Instagram worthy photo ops. The live music in every restaurant and bar was definitely a huge highlight and Broadway was something that you HAVE to experience. If you’re traveling to Nashville in the near future, let me know – I can make you a list of things to do and places to check out!!
